We aren’t the only ones wowed by J. Patrick Homes’ Sienna model — so were judges in Houston’s Best PRISM Awards hosted by the Greater Houston Builders Association! The model home — located at 1906 Royal Oak Drive — won three trophies in the highly competitive contest and was named a finalist five times.
In other words, every room in this model that could be nominated was nominated. The model’s many wins (and a few others) helped secure J. Patrick Homes the Grand Award for Volume Builder of the Year.
First, let’s talk about the award winners. The soaring family room with 20-foot ceilings, double-stacked windows and painted brick fireplace surround that stretches to the ceiling took home the prize for Volume Builder Family Room. This space is the hub connecting the kitchen and the formal and informal dining spaces. It also can be viewed from various points upstairs. Its neutral palette is accented with pops of teal that is a unifier throughout the home.
It's no surprise that the magnificent patio won Volume Builder Outdoor Living Over $400,000. There is room for comfortable couches as well as a large dining table near the outdoor kitchen. The spacious patio overlooks a manicured yard that features a fire pit, cornhole game and a regulation bocce ball court carpeted with crushed oyster shells shipped from California.
The kitchen was a finalist in the Volume Builder Kitchen category and is an exquisitely crafted marriage of function and design. A massive waterfall island and custom-built, rift-cut oak and painted cabinetry creates a beautiful space. The home chef will appreciate the professional gas range, pot filler and abundant lighting.
Every aspect of the owner’s suite was recognized — Volume Builder Primary Bedroom, Volume Builder Primary Bathroom and Volume Builder Specialty Room for the impressive closet. Contrasting colors, a detailed ceiling and a chandelier all add to the upscale look of the bedroom. The luxe ambiance continues into the primary bath, which has Benedettini cabinets, quartz countertops, a freestanding tub and walk-through shower. Tile flows from the floor to the wall behind the tub for a seamless look.
The closet is a real stand-out, with ample shelving and hanging space, all beautifully framed with dark cabinets. A large packing island offers more storage and functionality.
The media room also was a finalist in the Volume Builder Specialty Room category. Just off the large game room, the media room is a comfortable space to watch the latest release. Sliding barn doors separate the two entertainment areas.
As a whole, this Whitley II model home also won the award for Volume Builder Product Design $600,000+.
