Find Your New Home!
Updated June 2020
The name change from Sienna Plantation to Sienna continues this year as we remove “Plantation” from our monument signage. While the name change was initiated in May 2019 to give our decades-old community a modern refresh, now more than ever, removing language that could be hurtful to others is the right thing to do. Sienna is an amazing model of diversity, with thousands of residents of all backgrounds calling the community “home.” It is a strength we honor and celebrate.
(May 2019) Sienna has always been on the forefront of master-planned development, unafraid to innovate. Our contemporary shift to a shorter name continues with that long-standing tradition.
Does our name change affect any of the beautiful new Sienna Plantation homes for sale? Not at all. You’ll still be able to choose from a range of builders, designs and floor plans —whatever you need to make your house in Sienna, your home.
Nor does our name change affect our well-known Sienna Plantation neighborhoods. The master plan ensures that each neighborhood offers easy access to leafy parks, playgrounds and amenities that include five Sienna Plantation pools and resort style water parks, four recreation centers, miles of hike-and-bike trails and Camp Sienna, our 160-acre sports park.
In fact, The use of “Sienna” started years ago with the naming of amenities and streets in the community including:
And it’s natural to want to shorten a long name. Our residents have been doing it for years. Why talk about Sienna Plantation in Missouri City when the name Sienna says it all!
What about the Sienna Plantation homeowners association? That’s certainly a mouthful. Actually, residents call it SPRAI, which stands for the Sienna Plantation Residential Associations, Inc. Not that it matters — all anyone needs to know is that our homeowner’s association is responsible for planning outstanding Sienna Plantation events year-round.
Businesses prefer to keep things short and snappy, and our local business owners have already started using the Sienna identifier. If you take a look at the Sienna Plantation map, you’ll see these businesses listed:
What about future residents? Will they get confused if they Google “Sienna Plantation in Houston”, "Sienna Plantation Builders," or “Sienna Plantation in Texas?” Nope. They’ll still be able to find our website and a list of our Sienna Plantation model homes to visit.
Our switch to Sienna even brings with it a shorter URL — siennatx.com.
So, what’s in a name? KFC, JCP, HP and Huffpost are all examples of shortened names that everyone recognizes. Even the world’s largest employer, Walmart, shortened its name in recent years by dropping the hyphen.
So, when it comes to looking for new homes in Sienna Plantation, don’t let the name change fool you. We are still the same great community — just with a shorter name.
