Divine Savior Academy to More Than Double Student Capacity

Construction continues on the expansion of Divine Savior Academy in Sienna that will more than double the school’s capacity.

The 68,000-square-foot expansion will be home to 26 classrooms for middle and high school students and several specialty spaces, including labs for fine arts, chemistry and STEM courses. There will also be a College and Career Center, a gymnasium, weight room and locker rooms for boys and girls. School administrators will office in the new building, which will also have a chapel for church services. Outside will be an athletic field and grand courtyard that will face the academy’s current facility.

In all, Divine Savior Academy has 16 acres within Sienna. The addition will increase the school’s capacity to 750 students.

“Our current enrollment is around 350, so this gives us the ability to reach another 400 students with the gospel of Jesus Christ,” said Jake Unke, Principal of Divine Savior Academy. “Our goal, however, is to grow responsibly and make sure to maintain our school culture in the process.”

The expansion is expected to be complete this August although an opening date has not been set. The academy is preparing for increased enrollment, with plans to hire four additional full-time teachers for the middle school and high school.

“Applications are open, but spots are filling rather quickly,” Unke said.

As part of the construction of the new campus, Divine Savior Academy is building a new entrance and exit to relieve pressure on Waters Lake Boulevard, Unke said.

Divine Savior Academy opened in Sienna in 2018 serving early childhood through middle school students. It introduced its first high school grade in 2021 with a freshman class, adding a grade every year. The academy will graduate its first senior class in 2025.
