500+ Run for the Rosé in Sienna

More than 500 racers recently took to the streets in Sienna for the inaugural Run for the Rosé 5K, benefiting the Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels.

Sienna will donate $5,000 in proceeds to the organization, which serves Fort Bend residents ages 60 and older through home delivery of hot meals and recreational activities and meals at eight congregate centers throughout the county.

“We are so excited to support the vital efforts of Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels, particularly because this is their 50^th anniversary,” said Sienna Marketing Director Morghan Powell. “We met our goal of 500 racers this year and are looking forward to growing the event next year.”

The chip-timed race awarded cash prizes to the top overall male and female racers. Winning $100 for first place as the overall male winner was Jason Strutton. Madi Macsay was the overall female finisher, also winning $100.  

Earning $50 for their second-place wins were Jacob Yanez and Nicole Wuellner. William Crawford took third place for the men and won $25 as did Isabel Woelfel who finished third for the women.

Everyone who raced received brunch bites at the finish line and those ages 21 and older also received a glass of rosé. Attendees not interested in racing were part of the No Way 5K Party Patrol and could participate in the after-race festivities as well as purchase brunch and bubbly from 7 to 11 a.m.

Alloy Personal Training got runners warmed up before the race began. The after-race party included a grape stomping competition, food trucks, a DJ, photo opportunities and a Bubbly Bar for those age 21 and up.

The Race for the Rosé 5K is one of many charitable events Sienna hosts throughout the year.
